Q. What is the cause and remedy of small white sores on inside of the mouth?

A. The condition described is probably aphthae. In children the mouth should always be washed out with a clean wet cloth immedi­ately after feeding, for food remnants left in the mouth form the best possible soil for the production of the disease. An acid state of the stomach and a feeble condition of the sys­tem favor the production of this condition. The use of sour fruits and raw tomatoes are sometimes the exciting factors. Rinse the mouth often with boracic acid solution or peroxide of hydrogen in water.
